AUTO DENT REMOVAL SERVICE FOR COLUMBIA, SC AND LEXINGTON, SC
Welcome to Vivid Finish And Films where we've been serving the SC Midlands with excellence in paintless dent repair for more than 25 years.
My name is Greg Capps. I started my paintless dent repair business in 1995.
For 12 years I traveled all over the U.S. training new technicians while also serving insurance companies and auto body shops with hail repair services. In the off season I came back home and served local car dealers and local body shops with PDR.
In 2004 I became one of the first paintless dent repair technicians in the U.S to be certified at the highest level of my craft (Master Craftsman). My paintless dent repair certification can be found here.
In 2007 I stopped traveling and focused on serving local dealers, and body shops.
In 2021 my son-in-law and I started Vivid Finish And Films in order to offer our services to the public.
We are committed to providing the highest quality repairs possible and we look forward to serving you!

How Can I Know If PDR Can Repair My Vehicle?
We can repair all types of damage with PDR. Of course, heavy collision damage should always go to the body shop. Our shop location is convenient to both Lexington, SC, and Columbia, SC. Estimates are always free, so stop by during regular business hours for a quick and free estimate.
How Is PDR Performed?
Dent repair technicians use special LED lighting and industry-specific tools. The unique lighting allows the technician to see the most minute details and helps to ensure a high-quality repair. The dent repair tools come in various shapes and sizes, enabling the technician to gain access and leverage to the area behind the dent. This is a critical part of the process and involves careful observation and measurement of the professional dent technician.
Once the technician is satisfied with the positioning, he may use either a glue pulling technique or a metal flexing / massaging technique to remove the dent. The dent size will determine the amount of time it takes to complete the repair.
At Vivid Finish And Films, we have a beautiful lobby with guest wi-fi for those who choose to wait while their car is repaired.
We're on Sunset Blvd. Only 1 mile from Lexington Medical Center and less than 6 minutes from downtown Columbia, SC.
How Expensive Is Paintless Dent Repair?
In most cases, paintless dent repair is less than half the cost of traditional auto body repairs. Most small dings (about the size of a quarter) can be removed for between $75 and $125. Larger dents that are half dollar size up to the size of a football can cost from $150 to $450. Larger dents take more time and require a much higher level of skill, therefore they are more expensive.
Dent size is not the only consideration in the cost of Paintless Dent Repair.
Since PDR is performed by accessing the back side of the dented area, the PDR technician will usually have to remove and re-install parts in order to access the back side of the vehicle panel. Tail lights, head lights, inner door panels and other interior parts are commonly removed and reinstalled during the dent removal process.
Can PDR Remove Dents In An Aluminum Panel?
Yes, we regularly perform PDR on Aluminum car panels. Aluminum car panels are more difficult to repair than sheet metal and can cost 25% to 50% more to repair.
Aluminum is less flexible than sheet metal and usually requires more time to repair.
Is Paintless Dent Repair Worth It?
Yes! PDR can restore your car to its pre-accident condition for less money while keeping your factory paint intact. A quality repair from a PDR technician is completely invisible and does not diminish the value of your car. PDR also takes much less time that traditional auto body repairs. Most PDR jobs can be completed in one day.
What Does Paintless Dent Repair Mean?
It means that dents are repaired/removed without using paint, thus the word paintless.
Is Paintless Dent Repair Safe?
Paintless Dent Repair is the safest and most effective method for removing dents from your car. Since your factory paint is not sanded and removed, your factory paint warranty remains intact.
Paintless dent repair is used by every car manufacturer in the world.
Since dents, dings and minor imperfections happen even in the factory, PDR technicians are commonly employed by vehicle manufacturers to repair the cars prior to transport.
Can Paintless Dent Repair Fix Hail Damage?
Yes! we specialize in repairing hail damage. We have repaired thousands of hail damaged vehicles all over the United States, but now we only work here in the Columbia, SC and Lexington, SC area.
