Ceramic Coating Frequently Asked Question

Ceramic Coating

Is Ceramic Coating Better Than Wax?

Definitely!

  • Longevity: Wax tends to last one to three months on a vehicle, depending on use and weather conditions. While professionally installed nano-ceramic coatings are permanent and with proper care can keep your car looking new for a lifetime.
  • Gloss: While wax can add a level of shine, ceramic coatings by Ceramic Pro are proven to add many times more brilliance and depth than wax.
  • Protection: Wax will repel water for 1 to 3 months. Ceramic coatings by Ceramic Pro will repel water, road grime, brake dust, bugs, sap, spray paint, corrosion, and much more. Our ceramic coating is three times harder than your vehicle's clear coat and resists minor scuffs and scratches. In addition, our ceramic coatings have extreme hydrophobic properties that allow you to rinse away bugs, road grime, and other contaminants without the need for scrubbing.
  • Applications: Wax is generally used only on your painted surfaces. Our ceramic coatings can be applied to your glass, rims, plastic, chrome, and even leather and fabrics on the interior of your car.
  • Warranty: Wax is just wax and has no warranty. Ceramic Pro coating packages are available in warranties ranging from 2-years to Lifetime.

What Does Ceramic Coating Do?

Ceramic coating protects your car's paint from blemishes caused by minor scratches, bugs, sap, and other contaminants. It accomplishes this by forming a flexible glass-like shell on your vehicle's clear coat that blocks UV light, chemicals, tree sap, brake dust, and other contaminants. In addition, the hydrophobic surface makes the car ultra-slick, allowing water to sheet off with little effort.

  • Hydrophobic Properties: It repels water, liquids, mud, dirt, and other light debris. You see a lot of fantastic videos of water beading or shedding off a freshly coated vehicle. That's Hydrophobic.
  • Protection from UV Light: UV rays penetrate clear coats on paint and lead to paint fading and oxidation, ultimately resulting in corrosion and the appearance of rust. Ceramic coating blocks UV rays from causing this type of damage.
  • Protection Against Chemicals: Chemicals such as salt and acids found in bird droppings and bug splatters can also cause damage to car parts. The ceramic coating's ultra-slick surface blocks these contaminants from penetrating through to your car's paint.
  • Improved Luster and Shine: Ceramic coating is a microscopic and robust layer of glass that amplifies the shine and luster of the paint. In addition, it makes matte finishes on plastic trim appear deep and rich and allows alloy and chrome wheels to pop.
Simplifies Cleaning: One of the best features of a ceramic coating is its non-stick properties. Ceramic coatings make it harder for dirt to stick while also making it easier to remove. This adds a self-cleaning effect to your vehicle, as wind produced while driving will blow away contaminants – keeping the vehicle cleaner for more extended periods. You can also apply it to your wheels and brake calipers, which makes clean-up a breeze.
